Sandy Mitchell

Sandy is a certified reading specialist and Nantucket public and private school educator. She has been a longtime judge for the Nantucket Book Foundation's Young Writer Award and has been a close partner to NBF and our Nantucket school programming for many years. Sandy has also been tutoring island children in reading, writing and math for over 40 years, once worked at the Weezie Children's Library at the Atheneum, and currently helps to organize the Nantucket Bookmobile. She finds great joy in putting the just the right book into the hands of young readers.
